What to Expect from the Peptide Therapy Process | Mainestream Health, Gray ME

One of the clearest differences between a clinical peptide program and an online peptide seller is what actually happens after you say "I'm interested." With a website, the answer is usually: a form, a payment, and a package. With us, it's a process built to make sure the therapy is appropriate, safe, and something you feel confident doing. Here's exactly what to expect.

Step 1: Your in-office consultation

Everything starts with a real conversation in our Gray, Maine office. We review your health history, your goals, and what's actually going on — because a peptide only makes sense in the context of the person taking it.

This is also where we're honest with you. If peptide therapy is a good fit for your goals, we'll tell you and explain why. If something else should come first — or if a peptide isn't the right tool at all — we'll tell you that too. This consultation is an evaluation, not a sales pitch.

Step 2: A telehealth visit with a prescribing provider

If peptide therapy makes sense, the next step is a visit with a licensed prescribing provider. This is a genuine clinical visit, usually brief and focused, where your case is reviewed and — if appropriate — a plan is determined and prescribed.

This step exists for a reason: peptides used clinically are prescribed and overseen by a qualified provider. That oversight is not a formality to us. It's the difference between medicine and mail-order.

Step 3: In-office onboarding and your supply kit

Here's where our program really stands apart. Once your plan is in place, you come back to the office for a hands-on onboarding appointment. We walk you through everything: how your therapy works, how to prepare and administer it safely, storage, timing, and what to watch for.

Many people are understandably nervous about self-injection. Our job is to make you genuinely comfortable and competent before you ever do it on your own. You'll leave with a complete kit of the supplies you need to get started — not a vague set of instructions, but everything in hand.

Step 4: Follow-up and monitoring

Starting therapy is the beginning, not the end. We stay involved to see how you're responding, use lab work where it's appropriate, and adjust your plan over time. We're also comfortable pausing or stopping when that's the right clinical call — because we don't believe peptides should be used endlessly by default.

Why our peptide therapy process includes extra steps

Could we skip all of this and just ship product? Sure. Plenty of places do. But the consultation, the provider oversight, the hands-on onboarding, and the follow-up are exactly what make peptide therapy safe and effective rather than a gamble. The structure is the value.
